Welcome to North West Passage home page. The 2010 event took place on Saturday, 20th of February 2010.
Fortunately, despite the weather during the preceding weeks and a bleak forecast for the Saturday itself, riders were actually blessed with quite a nice day. Saturday morning signing-on arrived with riders initially greeted with a cold start. Spirits were undoubtedly raised with the usual warm hospitality of the Spring Inn staff, that combined with the opportunity to make new and catch up with old friends. The club is pleased to see new faces on the event and as always, we welcomed the usual crop of first timers.
Despite a cold start and some low lying mist in the Todmorden Valley, as the day went by, riders were greeted with improving weather. The climb of Greystones was punctuated with some further mist. Cresting the summit of Greytsones, riders were greeted with sunshine. A scene the majority of riders encountered for most of the day. There were a few reports of a short snow showers by some of the later arrivals on the 200km event. No doubt memories of which were beginning to fade, by the time their post-ride pie and peas arrived, in the comfort of a cosy pub!
The two North West Passage events will be back in 2011. Details of the 2011 events, including downloadable entry forms, will be available on this page from late autumn. In the meantime, please feel free to peruse the following event resources below.
